2024 NSSTA Congressional Connect Campaign Initiative

Members of the NSSTA Board of Directors and the NSSTA PAC Board met in Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill to participate in the 2024 “Congressional Connect Campaign Initiative.”  Over two days, structured settlement industry leaders met with more than a dozen Members of Congress to educate Congressional leaders on the value of structured settlements for injured people and their families and the importance of promoting and preserving 104(a)(2) and Section 130, our critical tax code provisions.   

Structured settlement industry leaders held targeted and impactful meetings with the following Members of Congress:

  • Senator Chuck Grassley, the Ranking Republican Member on the Senate Finance Committee
  • Senator Bob Casey, Member, Senate Finance Committee
  • Senator Tim Scott, Member, Senate Finance Committee
  • Congressman Jason Smith the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee
  • Members of the House Ways and Means Committee:
    • Congressman Adrian Smith, Nebraska
    • Congressman Jodey Arrington, Texas
    • Congressman Mike Kelly, Pennsylvania
    • Congresswoman Carol Miller, West Virginia
    • Congressman Jimmy Panetta, California
    • Congressman Greg Steube, Florida
    • Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, Texas
    • Congressman David Schweikert
    • Congressman Mike Carey, Ohio

 

NSSTA members also joined over 350 disability rights leaders from across the country in a gala 34th-year anniversary celebration of the passage of the Americans With Disability Act (ADA), hosted by the American Association of People with Disabilities
