Celebrating International Women's Day: The NSSTA Women's Caucus Accelerates Action

NSSTA Womens Caucus

As we celebrate International Women's Day 2025 under the theme "Accelerate Action" (#AccelerateAction), the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA) recognizes the significant contributions and leadership of women in our industry through our vibrant Women's Caucus. In alignment with this year's global call to action, we reflect on how our Women's Caucus is helping to accelerate progress toward gender equality in the structured settlements profession.

Women Helping Women: The Foundation of the NSSTA Women's Caucus

The NSSTA Women's Caucus serves as a national network of professional women across the structured settlements industry. United by the powerful motto "Women Helping Women," this community connects women to personally and professionally advance one another. The Caucus provides a supportive forum to address women's unique challenges in the structured settlements business through three core pillars: education, mentorship, and community.

A Mission of Support and Growth

The Women's Caucus's mission is clear and purposeful: to support the professional and personal development of women in the structured settlements industry through community, education, mentorship, and wellness. This commitment reflects a more profound understanding that when women are empowered, "they go on to empower others and improve the lives of everyone around them."

The Three Pillars: Mentor, Educate, Support

  • Mentor
The Women's Caucus believes in creating a community where experienced women can pass on their hard-earned wisdom to others. Their structured mentorship program pairs mentors and mentees for a 12-month commitment, with regular monthly contact designed to foster growth and development. As they aptly note, "A good mentor inspires you, stretches you, connects you, develops your EQ, opens your mind and most importantly, doesn't judge."

  • Educate
Education forms a cornerstone of the Caucus's work, providing development opportunities for personal and professional growth. Their initiatives focus on helping women reach their full potential in their respective pursuits within the structured settlements industry. The Caucus also promotes wellness and guides members in maintaining a balanced life.

  • Support
The Women's Caucus is reframing the concept of "networking" by creating environments where women can genuinely connect, share experiences, and support each other's success. They embrace the "Shine Theory" – the idea that everyone shines when you help another woman rise.

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, the Women's Caucus envisions "developing and uniting the strongest, healthiest, most educated women in the structured settlements industry." This community works toward the advancement, contributions, and amplification of women's voices, both for individual growth and for the betterment of the industry as a whole.

Accelerating Action for Gender Parity

The 2025 International Women's Day theme "Accelerate Action" calls attention to a sobering reality: at the current rate of progress, the World Economic Forum projects it will take until 2158—roughly five generations—to reach full gender parity. This theme emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality by addressing systemic barriers and biases that women face in both personal and professional spheres.

The NSSTA Women's Caucus answers this call through structured mentorship, targeted education, and intentional community-building. By fostering female leadership and creating systems that actively develop women professionals, the Caucus is working to accelerate progress within our industry rather than waiting for change to happen gradually.

On this International Women's Day, we celebrate the NSSTA Women's Caucus for their commitment to fostering female leadership, creating supportive professional relationships, and strengthening the structured settlements industry through diversity and inclusion. Their work exemplifies how professional organizations can #AccelerateAction toward gender equality through deliberate programs and supportive communities.
