The proposed rule Promotes Nondiscrimination in Health Care and Human Services for Persons with Disabilities and, when finalized, will mark an incredible advancement in disability civil rights.

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) hosted over 500 disability rights leaders at their annual ADA Celebration, which took place on July 26th, the anniversary date the ADA was signed into law. With over 300 in-person guests and over 200 guests participating virtually, it was a robust and committed group of leaders attending the celebration. Eric Vaughn from NSSTA attended as a supporter and as a member of AAPD's Board of Directors, a position he has held for over twelve years.

118th Congress Update
The 2022 Congressional elections included 435 individual races for Members of Congress who serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and 35 races for Members elected to serve in the U.S. Senate. After all the votes were counted, 85 newly elected Members of Congress were sworn into office—seven new U.S. Senators and 78 newly elected Members of the House of Representatives.
